CARBEIRINHO - SÃO NICOLAU ^02/03/2017

It is one of the seven wonders of Cape Verde, located in the municipality of Tarrafal, São Nicolau Island. This geological structure, whose rocks are formed by calcarenites and pyroclastic materials, is an example of the landscape diversity that characterizes the Cape Verde Islands. Its main attraction is a grotto of calcarenitica nature that imposes itself as one of the most beautiful coastal landscapes of the Country. The small beach next to the rock, serves as spawning place of caretta-caretta turtles and dolphin watching.
On sunny days, you can see the island of Raso and Branco, the neighboring islands of Santa Luzia and some of the island of São Vicente and Santo Antão.
